Smile Oswego Dental is Lake Oswego’s premier dental practice, offering cosmetic, emergency, & preventive dentistry to adults and children of all ages, in our clean, safe, & friendly environment.
Close friends and colleagues, Dr. Marcus Uchida and Dr. Fadi Ibsies decided to take their 32 years of combined experience and open Smile Oswego Dental in January 2020. They wanted to open a different kind of dental practice, where their passion for dentistry, their advanced training, and their devotion to patient care could all come together, in the community they love.
Dr. Uchida & Dr. Ibsies share the same care philosophy, making it their mission to provide patients with the highest quality dentistry & compassionate care. They believe in treating every patient like a member of their own family. Trust and communication with each patient are one of their top priorities. They want to empower and educate, so patients can make informed decisions about their care and treatment options. Making the doctor-patient relationship, more of a partnership.

Dr. Marcus
Uchida
After growing up in his family's Eastern Oregon dental practice, Dr. Marcus Uchida decided to follow in his father's footsteps & pursue a career in dentistry. Dr. Uchida moved just west of Portland after high school to attend Pacific University, where he completed his undergraduate degree. He went on to attend OHSU School of Dentistry, which is where he met his wife Diane, who is also a dentist. After graduating with his dental degree, Dr. Uchida joined a corporate group dental practice. In the 5 years with that practice, he gained extensive experience in all aspects of dentistry including cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, Invisalign®, & implants. In 2019, Dr. Uchida teamed up with Dr. Ibsies, owner of Smile Linn Dental. Together they opened Smile Oswego Dental in January 2020.
Dr. Uchida has extremely high standards for his practice & the level of patient care he & his team provide. He takes the time to listen to his patients & communicate with them every step of the way. He is passionate about creating & nurturing long-term rapport with each patient, while keeping their best interest at the forefront of his focus. He is the definition of a true dental professional; living his life characterized by the display of high intellectual, technical, & moral qualities & abilities, in service to his patients & the community.
In his spare time, Dr. Uchida enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife, their beautiful new baby, & their dog, Millie. He also tries to play golf any chance he gets.
MARCUS UCHIDA, DMD
Dr. Fadi Ibsies
After graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in Biology & Organic Chemistry, Dr. Ibsies went on to attend OHSU School of Dentistry, graduating in 2001.
When it was time to choose a location to put down his roots, Dr. Ibsies knew West Linn was the community he wanted to be a part of. He opened Smile Linn Dental in 2006 & has been keeping families smiling in West Linn ever since.
Passionate about education & providing exceptional care to every patient, Dr. Ibsies continues to advance his studies, focusing on sedation dentistry, advanced esthetic dentistry, and the most up-to-date procedures & surgical techniques.
Dr. Ibsies enjoys spending as much time with his family as possible. He is quite the “tech-nerd”, but also likes to get outside and enjoys tennis, soccer & hiking.

Tracy, our exceptional EFDA dental assistant, has been in the dental field for over 15 years, 9 of those years working side by side with Dr. Uchida. Patients regularly recognize how well they work together as a team, making appointments go smoothly & stress-free.
Tracy is an essential part of our practice. Her exceptional work ethic, kindness, & easy-going personality combined with her dentistry knowledge, experience, & attention to detail has made her one of our greatest assets. Her nurturing & calming energy puts patients at ease, making patient visits as relaxing as possible.
When Tracy is not in the office, she stays as active as possible, through activities such as hiking or a variety of home fitness routines. Tracy enjoys traveling often with her husband & kids, & spending time with her 3 dogs.

Our office manager, Jennifer, has over 20 years dental administration experience. Working in both corporate & private practices, Jennifer has extensive experience in all aspects of the dental office. When you come to Smile Oswego Dental, Jennifer will greet you with a warm & friendly smile. She makes it her priority to always make your feel welcomed & valued. You will always be treated with kindness & the utmost respect.
Questions about your insurance or financing? Jennifer can answer any question you have & help guide you through the process. She is a wealth of information in this department & thrives on helping patients achieve optimal dental health with as little out of pocket as possible.
Outside of the office, Jennifer loves spending time with her daughter, and their Boston Terrier. She is also currently working towards her Bachelor of Business Administration degree, which keeps her very busy.

Dr. Uchida and his staff at Smile Oswego Dental are fantastic and I would absolutely recommend them. Dr. Uchida's work takes professionalism to another level. Besides having outstanding workmanship, Dr. Uchida and his staff care about you as an individual. They took the time to explain to me what was being done along with WHY it was being done. On top of that, I was shown before and after pictures so I could see the results. Back in 2013, Dr. Uchida did a crown for me and I haven't had any issues. Since then I've moved around the states and have been to other practices and unfortunately I have had issues with some of the work done. I currently live in Corvallis and even though it's 80 miles away, I decided to go back to Dr. Uchida because I know that I can trust him and his work.
